Huawei unveils‘ smartphone
Manufacturer showcases two new handsets at annual Las Vegas event
Huawei has announced its two latest smartphones at CES, the Ascend Mate and Ascend D2.
The Ascend Mate features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 8MP camera,
runs Android Jelly Bean and features a 6.1-inch HD display, which the
manufacturer claims makes it the handset with the world’s largest
smartphone screen.
The Chinese firm also claims, thanks to power-saving technology, the
Mate it has the fastest battery charging of any similar smartphone,
going from empty to fully charged 30 per cent faster than competitors.
Also announced at the event was the Ascend D2 which has a smaller
display at five inches, a 1.5 GHz quad core processor, runs Android
Jelly Bean and features a 13MP camera.
The D2 is available in China later this month with the Mate following
in February. No details are currently available about a world-wide
release.
